How to Add a Multi-Language Audio Track to a YouTube Video

November 4, 2026

YouTube lets one video carry several audio tracks in different languages. A viewer in Spain hears Spanish, a viewer in Germany hears German — same video, same views, same comments. You do not need a second channel or a re-upload. You need an audio track in another language, and this guide shows how to get one and add it.

What a multi-language audio track is

It is an extra audio file attached to an existing video. YouTube plays it automatically for viewers whose language matches, and everyone can switch tracks in the player settings (the gear icon → Audio track). All views and watch time stay on one video, which is better for recommendations than spreading them across copies.

The feature is rolling out gradually and depends on your channel. Open YouTube Studio → Content → your video → Languages: if you can add Audio (sometimes labelled Dub) next to a language, it is available to you.

Step 1. Get the audio track in another language

The track must be the same length as the video, with the new voice placed where people speak, and ideally with the original music and sounds kept. You can record it with a voice actor, or make it with AI dubbing:

  1. Upload your video to Vyexa Dubbing and choose the target language.
  2. Wait for the dub — a few minutes for a short video. Each speaker gets their own voice; the background stays.
  3. In My videos, open Audio ▾ and download the Audio track (M4A). It already has the same length as your video.

Repeat for every language you want: one video can have tracks in English, Spanish, German, Ukrainian, Polish and more.

Step 2. Add it in YouTube Studio

  1. Open YouTube Studio → Content and select the video.
  2. Go to Languages in the left menu and click Add language. Pick the language of your new track.
  3. In the Audio (or Dub) column, click Add and upload the M4A file.
  4. Publish. Processing takes a few minutes, then the track appears in the player.

While you are there, add translated titles and descriptions for the same language — they show up in search for people who speak it. The dub comes with an .srt subtitle file too, if you want subtitles in that language.

Tips that make a difference

No multi-language audio on your channel yet?

Download the full dubbed MP4 instead and upload it as a separate video, or post it to Shorts, Reels and TikTok for that market. When the audio-track option appears in your Studio, you can attach the same M4A to the original video.
